The Adult Literacy Center of
the Lehigh Valley (ALC) is a
non-profit, 501 (c) 3,
community-oriented agency
dedicated to high-quality,
neighborhood-based adult
education that improves the
quality of life for our
students and their
communities.
Since its inception in 1977,
the Adult Literacy Center (ALC)
has provided instruction in
Adult Basic Education, GED® preparation, and English as
a Second Language, as well
as related services, to more
than 14,000 area residents.
ALC is committed to:

services based on best practice

and privacy of those we serve
- Compassionate and professional behavior as demonstrated through our
attitudes, actions and words
- Teamwork, collaboration
and open communication
Services are provided at no
cost to students. The Adult
Literacy Center’s programs
are supported by funding
from the Pennsylvania
Department of Education
(Bureau of Adult Basic and
Literacy Education), Lehigh
County, the City of
Allentown, United Way of the
Greater Lehigh Valley, as
well as private foundations
and donors.
