Thank you for sharing
the Literacy Center’s
commitment to improving
lives through literacy. Your
generosity will help our
students fulfill their
dreams to become better
parents, better workers and
better citizens, impacting
their lives and the lives of
those around them. There are
many ways in which you can
support our efforts. Please
consider one or more of the
following opportunities and
call us at (610) 435-0680
for more information:
Become a Donor
Donors are critical to
the financial well being of
the The Literacy Center. By making a
monetary donation, you can
help us continue to provide
learning materials and free
adult education services to
those with significant
literacy needs. We are
appreciative of any monetary
gift. Your gift will be
acknowledged by letter for
tax purposes and in our list
of “Contributors”. Checks
should be made payable to
“The Literacy Center” and
mailed to us at:
The Literacy Center
801 Hamilton Street, Suite
201
Allentown, PA 18101
***Many employees are
surprised to learn that
their employer may match the
gift that they donate to
support adult literacy. Ask
your employer if they will
match donations to
non-profits. Many companies
may even double the match of
the employee’s gift
depending on the amount.
Honor a Friend or Loved
One
A donation to The Literacy Center makes a
wonderful, meaningful gift
or memorial for friends or
family members. Make a
donation, in their name, to
The Literacy Center.
We’ll send a letter of
appreciation outlining the
use of the gift donated in
their honor at your
direction as well as include
your gift in our list of
“Contributors”.
Encourage your Church,
Synagogue or Community Group
to Support Literacy
If your church, synagogue
or community group has a
mission rooted in community
development or social
justice, they may be looking
for ways to donate their
time and financial
resources. Fighting
illiteracy is a perfect fit.
Because so may other
societal problems stem from
illiteracy, helping people
learn to read, write,
understand math, prepare for
their GED® or learn the
English language will help
benefit our entire
community.
Donate Educational,
Office or Classroom Supplies
Donated office supplies
and materials, such as
spiral-bound notebooks,
3-ring binders, pencils,
pens, calculators, and
paperback dictionaries can
help make learning more
affordable for Literacy Center students
on limited budgets. We
welcome donations of all
kinds of supplies, including
reams of white or colored
paper, flip charts, markers,
new electric coffee makers,
used computer systems
(please call for
specifications), and paper
products such as coffee
cups, paper napkins and
plastic silverware.
Volunteer Opportunities
Everyday, The Literacy Center’s students
teach us about
determination, human
resilience and change. Their
success is evident in
improvement of their
reading, academic and
English language skills.
